Description:

This Blackwood flitch is good as it gets. This flitch is loaded with curl figure and birdseye figure. The birdseye figure is at its best on the outside slabs. The wood has the color and figure that is desired by the tonewood industry. This flitch measures little over 6 feet long and most boards are over 20 inches wide with some of the center boards measuring up to 3 feet wide. This was the nicest Blackwood flitch that we cut in 2007 out of 3 containers of logs. We also have the upper limb which we quarter sawed into 10/4. The branch also showed amazing figure and these quarter sawn pieces are ideal for veneering or tonewoods.

Note: All pictures of boards that appear wet, have been wiped with denature alcohol to help show natural color. We use denature alcohol because it evaporates and does not effect the moisture content of the wood.
