Description:

This flitch is a rare form of English White Oak- considered an English Burr Oak. The term "Burr" is used when the lumber is covered in Burl like figure. This figure is extremely dense and is created by burl clusters that grow on the entire tree. If the burl figure is light or not consistent they call it "pippy" and when the figure covers the entire board they call it "Burr". The English Burr Oak and English Brown Burr Oak are some of the hardest logs to find.
