Description:

This koa log has great medium to heavy curly figure and some boards have a beautiful crotch figure- making this AAAA quality. The color is a beautiful golden brown. Defects in the log include knots, checking, bark inclusions and minor twisting and/or cupping.

Note: All pictures of boards that appear wet, have been wiped with denature alcohol to help show natural color. We use denature alcohol because it evaporates and does not effect the moisture content of the wood.

This board is the outside cut. The middle of the board is the bark edge of the tree and won't yeild much thickness. This piece has a cup. It shows a nice curly figure.

This is the thickest board in the log. It has some curl and a few defects such as knots, small bark pockets and signs of a pith crack. Overall the pith crack in this log isn't very noticable. The piece crotch figure as well.
