Description:

This koa flitch must be bought as a whole log. The flitch has some boards with rot and every board shows at least one knot. The grain is flat sawn and the color is a golden brown with a slight red hue. The flitch is of average quality but still beautiful.

Note: All pictures of boards that appear wet, have been wiped with denature alcohol to help show natural color. We use denature alcohol because it evaporates and does not effect the moisture content of the wood.

This is an outside cut of the tree. This piece would be great for picture frames. It has some minor end and surface checks as well as a section with rot which can be noted in the photos. The board is also slightly twisted.
