Description:

This flitch is a rare Birdseye Koa flitch. The quality of the flitch is very poor. Only about 30 to 40% of this flitch can be salvaged. However, the color and figure is extraordinary and for the woodworker who wants to go the extra mile and make this flitch work for a furniture project there is alot of potential. Most of the pieces could be used for high end character table tops. The flitch has been reduced in price due to the quality. You must buy the whole flitch.

Note: All pictures of boards that appear wet, have been wiped with denature alcohol to help show natural color. We use denature alcohol because it evaporates and does not effect the moisture content of the wood.

maybe the nicest piece in the whole flitch, it shows some of the same rot and surface checks but the whole piece is mostly usable. It has the same incredible birdseye figure with nice dark color. This is a beautiful piece that could be used for a nice character table top.

this is actually a beautiful board, shows lots of figure - including rare birdseye figure, I would say about 50 to 60% of the one face is usable (other face shows the rot issues and some of the center of this piece). The piece would also be usable at full width with lots of work.
