Description:

This pile is not a flitch - it actually is combintions of pieces from several logs. There is 1 set of 3 pieces in this parcel but most pieces are unique or pairs. All pieces are crotch mahogany and show excellent figure. All the pieces do show significant defects. These include bark pockets, checks, uneven thickness, cups, twist, etc. There is alot of potential for this material because it is old genuine honduras mahogany but it will need to be worked into smaller pieces or will need extensive repair. This parcel is priced to sell and must be bought as a parcel. Please no exceptions and inquires for one piece. We do have other crotch mahogany that can be sold this way.

Note: All pictures of boards that appear wet, have been wiped with denature alcohol to help show natural color. We use denature alcohol because it evaporates and does not effect the moisture content of the wood.

Board has good crotch figure but the piece is not flat and miscut. It tapers from 1 1/2 at the crotch end to a 1/4" at other end. Piece is best used cut up into smaller pieces for drawers fronts, box tops, etc.
