This Redwood flitch is from Calfornia and was salvaged from an old burl root that was buried in the ground. This material is some of the nicest single piece table top wood that we have ever cut. The boards are full of "lace" figure from one end to the other and have beautiful color and size! This root did require a lot of extra work and extra saw blades- it was full of rocks. We destroyed 4 blades to cut 8 slabs and still have half the root left to cut. The three main slabs measure over 40 inches wide and 10 feet long and are all 2.5 inches and thicker (1 slab at 2.5" thick, 1 slab at 3" thick and 1 slab at 4" thick). These slabs are the prized slabs from the bunch and will sell at a premium. This log is an amazing beauty!!!
Please note: Still remaining is a section of the root that can yield 3 or 4 more slabs and a 7" inch thick slab that can be resawn- Both we will leave as is until we have an order in place. See pictures or call for further details.
