Description: |
This Tasmanian Rose Myrtle is the biggest Australian log that we have ever cut. The log measured an amazing 19 feet long and about 72 inches wide at the widest spot. Due to the shape we cross cut the log into an 8 ft and an 11 ft section. This flitch is the 11 ft. section. Once cut, this section contains 4 to 5 pieces that are ideal for single piece tables and 9 to 10 pieces from the outside and very center that are ideal for bookmatched table tops. All the pieces show very nice flame figure and some burl, the strongest figure being found on the outside boards. The color is superb- a very rich red. This is an extraordinary flitch. |

Note: All pictures of boards that appear wet, have been wiped with denature alcohol to help show natural color. We use denature alcohol because it evaporates and does not effect the moisture content of the wood. |
