Description:

This is a rare crotch sapele flitch. Almost every board shows awesome crotch figure from top to bottom. These pieces are definitely one of a kind and this flitch is one of our nicest crotch flitches. Some boards do show some cupping but for the most part this can be worked out. Also most pieces do show some checking in the crotch figure itself. This is very common for crotch material and is almost expected. This can be filled and worked with but crotch material is usually best used by woodworkers who have experience with filling and "correcting the crotch".

Note: All pictures of boards that appear wet, have been wiped with denature alcohol to help show natural color. We use denature alcohol because it evaporates and does not effect the moisture content of the wood.

This is the outside piece of the cant or outside piece of flitch, 1 face is compeletly rough and the thickness varies from 2 1/4 (wide end) to 1 1/8" narrow end. Piece is sold as 1" inch thick. Shows some figure on good face. Photo of rough face can be found in photo gallery.

Another outside piece, show some nice swirly grain and a little figure. Note has multiple lengths, measure 37" inches of usable full thickness material and has a total length of 55 inches. Piece is sold as 37".
