Description:

This is Hearne Hardwood's first ever Umthunzi flitch. Umthunzi is an African species that primarily grows in South Africa. The wood is extremely dense and fine textured. It resembles Pink Ivory or Swiss Pear with its pretty pinkish color. This particular flitch is thick, wide and long enough to be used for just about anything... The perfect flitch if you are looking for something a little different.

Note: All pictures of boards that appear wet, have been wiped with denature alcohol to help show natural color. We use denature alcohol because it evaporates and does not effect the moisture content of the wood.

nice piece, has good 6 foot mostly clear section in it, good color that resembles pink ivory, has been slightly miscut at the 20 inch edge it measures 4" inches thick on 1 side and 3" inches thick on the other.
