This English Walnut flitch was root dug and flitch sawn with its natural edge. Very rare to find boards that have a natural edge and are root dug - Even rarer to find a "true" English Walnut. This log came from the Midland region of England. The boards unusually long and wide for English Walnut. All boards show fiddle back figure and center cuts have root figure and crotch figure. Most boards do show some character like knots and end checks. Some boards also show some water stain, which takes extra surfacing or staining to hide. Also note some of the boards are missing part of their natural edge due to cutting metal out of this log. Note: Widths listed below have been approximated.
Only Boards B, C, & D remain.
