Description:

This was our nicest European Walnut of 2006. This log was root dug and measure over 60 inches wide across the roots and the crotch. These logs are highley prized when the root structure is left intact. The best gunstocks come from root Walnut because this part of the tree usually shows more figure. Plus for table tops the extra natural edge of the roots gives the builder more design possibilities. The boards from this log are really beautiful with nice figure in the crotch and the roots. Along with rich heart color this flitch is about good as it comes for European Walnut.

Note: All pictures of boards that appear wet, have been wiped with denature alcohol to help show natural color. We use denature alcohol because it evaporates and does not effect the moisture content of the wood.
