This is one of the nicest table top size Walnut flitches that we have ever cut. It has a wonderful uniform shape with consistent 40 inch widths! The defects are at a minimum making this log easy to work with. The main defect is metal that we cut thru during the sawing process- Most boards show indications of nails but this only adds to the character of the slabs. The flitch shows excellent color and figure. Tiger stripe figure runs thru most of the log and the center boards show beautiful crotch figure- truly lovely! This particular Walnut tree came from New York state. It will need 2 years of air dry time (ready to use summer of 2010). Serious inquires only please!
