Description:

This Wandoo flitch is a Western Austalian species that is a member of the Eucalyptus family. This particular flitch shows very heavy figure. The center boards have a tight curl that goes from one end to the other. The outside boards show a pomelle / birdseye figure. Additionally these boards have a wild natural edge- it looks like something from a different world.

Please note this flitch is listed in our dry inventory but it has never been kiln dried. The boards have been cut and air dried for about a year as of 7/1/2008. Due to the extreme density and weight of these boards we have no plans for kiln drying. Please inquire about the exact moisture content of the actual boards before buying and it might be possible to dry further upon request. We do however recommend slow air drying before use to limit the stress and checking within this wood.

Note: All pictures of boards that appear wet, have been wiped with denature alcohol to help show natural color. We use denature alcohol because it evaporates and does not effect the moisture content of the wood.
