Goncalo Alves is another one of the dense wildly colored tropical hardwoods. One of its names is tigerwood that aptly describes the colors in this species with its orange and black streaks. Beware some companies are marketing this product as koa and then in very small letters “Brazilian koa”, so much bullshit, oh well what can you do? That is like calling a Ford a “North American Mercedes”.
