The below hardwood flitches have either the width, shape or some other defining characteristic that makes them ideal for table tops. We offer mostly natural edged material that can be finished in its natural state or trimmed to make a more traditional style table top. We offer wide clear boards along with character flitches showing many defects. Some planks are straight while others are round. No matter what your design preference we try to keep you covered.
Most of this material has been custom sawed on our 67" inch vertical band saw and then processed very slowly. Almost all of our 40 inch and wider slabs are cut into 8/4 lumber (2" inch lumber) or thicker, allowing for them to be used at their full width even if the board develops a twist or a cup during the drying process. Slabs are usually air dried 1 1/2 to 3 years and some wide burl tops can take 3 to 5 years. Once air dried to 15 to 18% moisture content we run these flitches thru our dehumidification-kiln for 2 to 3 weeks until the material drops to 6 to 10% moisture content.
Please note: this list does not cover our full inventory of table top boards. We have miscellaneous slabs on other parts of this website and boards in stock that are not yet catalogued.
