What is a board foot?
A board foot is a wood measurement for a piece of lumber 12″ wide by 1′ long by 1″ thick for estimating purposes. Board foot, or board feet, is commonly abbreviated as FBM, BDFT, or BF. Learn how to figure board feet in your next stack of lumber below.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. There may be restrictions and additional costs depending on the country and/or species. For a quote, please call us at 610.932.7400.
Do you ship to P.O. boxes?
Yes, with restrictions. We can ship an envelope size package, such as a sample, but nothing larger.
Do you have a retail store for walk in customers?
Yes. Customers are welcome to walk in and pull their own lumber or ask one of our employees for assistance. If you are looking for larger slabs, we ask that you call ahead as we may need to move some stacks around to pull out your specific request. Please call us at 610.932.7400 if you have specific requests.
Do you cut boards to length?
Yes. We can cross-cut your material free of charge. You must purchase the full piece.
Do you offer milling services?
Yes. We have different milling options depending on your needs, for an additional charge. The charge is $140/hr with a 15 minute minimum. Please call if you need more information. 610.932.7400
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes. We offer discounts for students with I.D, senior citizens (62 and up) and active duty military and veterans.
Do you have a restocking fee?
Yes. Hearne Hardwoods reserves the right to charge a 15% restocking fee on returns and any processed orders that are canceled.
What is your return policy?
Returns, Exchanges, or Company Credit (all with authorization) are available on UNMILLED, UNCUT lumber within 30 days of shipment. “B-Graded” Guitar Parts and Flooring are non-returnable and non-refundable. PLEASE INSPECT YOUR MATERIAL BEFORE MILLING.
- Return shipping is to be paid by the customer. On eligible returns, Hearne Hardwoods will reimburse the return shipping. Please contact us at 610.932.7400 for eligible returns.
Who are your shipping carriers?
All orders will be shipped UPS Ground, TForce Freight, ABF, and other miscellaneous LTL carriers. Hearne Hardwoods will inform you of shipping carrier and provide a tracking number by email.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express, Personal Checks, Money Orders, Wire Transfers, ACH and Cash.
- All merchandise must be paid for at the time of purchase or before shipment unless previous arrangements have been made.
Do you require a minimum order?
There is no minimum for walk-in customers or guitar items.
- There is a $300 minimum purchase for mail orders.
